Frequently Asked Questions

What are the rates?

A session is $200 for up to two animals. This rate includes an on location session, lasting for up to two hours. It also includes the post editing of the session’s images and the creation of a private gallery for viewing. Prints and products are purchased separately. A non-refundable $50 deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment.  Each additional animal is $25. Additional locations can be added to your session for $75. Please contact Sheepish Grin for product pricing.

What happens before the session?

Sheepish Grin will call you the day before to confirm. What if it’s going to be raining cats and dogs? We’ll just reschedule.

What is the cancellation policy?

We understand things happen. One cancellation with at least 48 hours notice will be accepted. A non-refundable retainer of $75 will be required at the time of the second booking.  A second cancellation will result in the loss of the retainer.

What happens during the session?

The session lasts anywhere from an hour to two hours. First, we take time to get to know your animal before the photographing begins. We want them to feel comfortable. We take as many different poses and expressions of your animal as possible. We try different settings at the location. Typically we work in natural light settings, but can take photos inside your home as well.

What happens after the session?

After the session, usually within a week, you will get an email with a password to your private photo gallery. This will consist typically of 30 edited images. This gallery is available to you for two weeks from the time of the email. Feel free to share it with family and friends! Your animal will also be featured on the Sheepish Grin blog

What is the ordering process?

You can either order by choosing from your online gallery or we can set up an in-home ordering session. The advantage of an in-home ordering session is you have the photographer’s advice as to what is best and suitable. If your gallery expires and you want to order after that time, there will be a $25 gallery re-upload fee. $200 is the minimum product purchase required. 8x10 gift prints start at $30. Collections start at $300.  Each image selected is carefully edited and prepared for printing.

Here’s some important things to think about:

1. Think about where you would like the shoot to take place. Where will your animal feel comfortable? At your home, at the park or at the beach? If it’s somewhere your dog is likely to be very distracted, this might not be the best place.

2. A walk before the session with your pup is always advisable if they are of a spirited nature, but don’t get them too pooped out!

3. Double check your animal’s appearance before the shoot. Gunky eyes we can fix, other things, not so much.

4.  For Sheepish Grin, the safety and well being of your animal comes first. Leashes can be removed via Photoshop.

5. If your animal has a favorite toy, bring it along to the shoot, (Unless it’s likely to get lost. We want no sad pups.)

6. Is there something special about your animal you want the photographer to capture?

7. The session should be fun for you and your animal.
